Here, I'm just a devotee.
When I was younger, I was recruited for the G.A.T.E. (Gifted and Talented Education) program which sounds way more impressive than it actually is. They gave out newsletters, and I remember one issue had something along the lines of “how to socialize your gifted child” on the cover.
It’s been about a decade, and I still don’t know how I feel about that. On the one hand, how rude to assume all “gifted” children need help socializing. On the other hand, why didn’t anyone help me learn how to socialize?
I was never the type to love freely. For example, when I was in grade school and I had to give everyone a Valentine’s Day card, I bought several sets because I refused to give out the ones that said something along the lines of “Be mine!” I trashed those and gave out the “You’re awesome!” ones.
Went from unemployed to having two part time jobs in about 3 weeks. Even better, both of them want me exclusively, so they’re offering me better pay and more hours. Not so awesome, now I have to pick which one to quit even though I practically just started.
